Meet the IIE Team
Wade Martin is a Professor of Economics and Director of the Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship. His work focuses on risk analysis for business development and sustainable local economic development, with research and development projects for the World Bank, USAID, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the Downtown Long Beach Alliance. He has published widely, edited three books, served as editor-in-chief of Contemporary Economic Policy, and been a commentator on NPR’s Marketplace.
Ingrid Martin is a Professor of Marketing and the Institute’s Marketing Director. Her research on social marketing, risk communication, and consumer behavior has appeared in leading journals, including the Journal of Marketing Research and the Journal of Consumer Research. She teaches sustainability in °µÍøTV’s MBA programs and has helped lead the effort to bring innovation and entrepreneurship to °µÍøTV students and the Long Beach community.
Monique Palmera serves as the Engagement & Operations Lead for the Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, where she directs the operational strategy behind its programs and initiatives. A °µÍøTV graduate, she also leads the Institute’s engagement strategy, shaping how the IIE connects with its community and tells the story of its impact. Her warm, approachable style builds lasting relationships with students, mentors, and partners across Long Beach.
